Spring Migration Birding Weekend
A weekend of birds and birding in the Moosalamoo Recreation Area surrounding Blueberry Hill with David Hof of New England Bird Tours.
Join us for our Spring Migration Birding Weekend! Early May is perhaps the most exciting time of year for birdwatching, being at the heart of spring migration, and the serene forest surrounding Blueberry Hill Inn is a perfect place to enjoy this spectacle. Migrant birds will be flooding into the area, and we’ll watch the frenzy of bird activity as they refuel from their long journeys, and sing their hearts out to set up territories and attract mates. Birding will be led by Dr. David Hof, an expert birder, ornithologist, and overall fun bird guide. We’ll watch nesting herons and loons, and see raptors, owls, and scores of colorful warblers, tanagers, grosbeaks, orioles, vireos, and more. We’ll likely find over 100 species in total during the weekend, including more than 20 warbler species. This is a great chance to get out and enjoy spring in the beautiful Green Mountains, and to see an impressive array of birds. It’s also a great way to hone your birding skills, learn a ton about bird migration, behavior, and ecology, and to simply have fun with other bird enthusiasts.
